Define Roundabout sounds? (musically, spiritually, emotionally):
I took a long break (1998-2010) from putting out music after starting the Plug Research label with my friend back in 1994. It was Delano, Norm and Mike’s “Detroit Beatdown Mix” that made me want to do it again. I had also started to play around the studio a bit with a friend here in San Jose. The direction is pretty much whatever I’m feelin’ at any given time.
Before Roundabout Sounds, there was Plug Reasearch. Tell us something about that. Was there anything before Plug Research?
Mainly hustling, chasing women and crate diggin’.
We discover your label in the very beggining with the EBB& Flow release. What happened with that?
Yeah that’s a name that my friend and I use when we make tracks here locally. My work and family schedule didn’t allow me to visit too often so now we just keep in touch over the phone mostly.
How is the scene in your California? It’s seems that you are more connected with artist from Detroit, Chicago or Europe than from your state.
Yeah I guess you can say that. I’m gonna be connected with whoever is into what I’m doing, or similar stuff in general. I’m sure just like anywhere else, SF is quite “clique-y” so most of the time I don’t have the patience or bandwidth to be “one of the guys” up here ;)
How does the USA scene looks to the growing European Scene?
I’m not sure if I can speak on the scene level ‘cause I don’t really go out much unless there’s a dj/act performing that I want to see (which averages about maybe once a year around here).
Choose your fav record of 2013:
Hmm, off the top of my head for the LP I would say Karizma’s and for a record, maybe the red Baaz record on Slices of Life.
And your fav label?
For consistency I’d go with Philpot
Discover us a small dope label that nobody knows (yet)
Ehrenfels and Unknown Deetroit
And a newcomer artist?
Jon Easley (Roundabout Sounds) and Hokuto Sato
Tell us something about the mix:
It’s dope. Everyone should play shit like this ;)
Is that dope black BMW yours?
Nah, that’s my assistant’s :P
What about the Steelers? Doin´good?
Superbowl winners next year. F*ck the Cowboys.
What does Joe Babylon in his free time?
Hanging with my little Sofia. She’s my world.
You’re a hip hop lover. Best producer? Best MC? Best band?
Dilla hands down. Big L. The Cure.
If We say Pinche, you say..?
Norm Talley gave us this dope mix as a present for our 1st anniversary. Enkoy the ride.

INTERVIEW #3 | PODCAST 06
This interview goes beyond the music. Feel free to understand whatever you want. For us it talks about how a guy, in the middle of nowhere, in a city with “no music scene” at all, can reach the electronic music scene by his own way. Anton Neotnas lives just in the middle of Europe and Asia. He is a music passionate and vinyl collector. Our first contact with him was through the music he sent us (one of the tracks will be included in Stown06). Dope and different stuff. Sounds warm and cold at the same time.
“Tanks”, “russian detroit”, “meteors” , old “tapes and Vhs” and more in our 3rd interview. Don’t expect a house mix. This one is all about hip hop, broken beats and trip hop. All vinyl. Welcome Anton “Delight Of Fear” Neotnas.
